Different Ways to Say Sorry

Apologising is part of everyday life, but we don’t all use the same words. In a formal setting, such as at work, you might say, "I apologise for the mistake and will fix it right away." With friends, a simple "I'm really sorry" or "My bad" works well. In some cultures people add a gesture, like a slight bow, to show respect. If you hurt someone's feelings, you can add an explanation: "I didn't mean to upset you, I was careless." When you need to make amends, offer a solution: "Let me make it up to you by helping with the project." Remember, the tone of voice and eye contact are as important as the words. A sincere apology can repair relationships quickly.
