When the Internet Stops Working on Our Street
Alex: Hey, did you notice the Wi‑Fi disappeared on Maple Street? Sam: Yeah, I tried to stream a video and it just froze. No signal at all. Alex: It feels weird, right? Everyone is stuck without instant messages or online maps. Sam: I walked to the bakery and the owner said the card machine stopped working. He had to take cash. Alex: I saw a group of kids playing a board game on the sidewalk instead of scrolling on their phones. Sam: Without the internet, the street feels calmer. People talk more, and the traffic lights are slower because the sensors need data. Alex: I think I’ll read a book on the bench. Maybe the outage will last a few hours. Sam: Hopefully it comes back soon, but it’s nice to see the neighborhood breathe for a bit.
