English exams and Iran: what are your options now?

Every major English test has now closed inside Iran. This page sets out what is actually still possible — plainly, without selling you anything that does not exist.

What we cannot do — stated plainly

LexUnio is not an accredited examination body. We cannot issue a certificate that universities accept, and nobody who tells you otherwise is being honest with you. What we sell is preparation, not a certificate.

What is still possible

• Sitting the exam outside Iran. TOEFL and GRE can still be taken at centres in other countries; the nearest options for most people are Türkiye, the UAE, Armenia and Georgia. Budget for visa, travel and the test fee together.
• Checking whether your university accepts an alternative. Many accept a recognised in-house test, a previous degree taught in English, or an interview. Ask the admissions office directly — the answer is often more flexible than the website suggests.
• Waiting is also a decision. Providers have said they will reassess if the rules change. If your deadline allows, following the announcements costs nothing.

Where we can genuinely help

If you are going to travel for the exam, you are paying for a flight, a visa and the test fee — and in practice you get one attempt. Preparation matters more now, not less. Our IELTS and TOEFL practice is free, works in Persian, and tells you your level before you book anything.
